We wanted to bring your attention to an important weather update that may soon affect our area. Southern California has been issued a Tropical Storm Watch as Hurricane Hilary moves north along the Baja California coast.
While it’s uncertain how the storm will ultimately impact our area, it is important to be prepared for potential significant wind & rainfall.
As such, Avalon and your community association urges everyone to take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of your homes and properties. Here are some important steps you can take:
Secure Outdoor Items: To prevent damage caused by strong winds, please secure or bring indoors any outdoor items that could become projectiles. This includes patio furniture, outdoor toys, un-secured BBQs and any loose objects that might pose a risk.
Assess Potential Flooding Areas: Identify any areas on your property that are prone to flooding. Check your drainage system and remove any debris that could hinder proper water flow. Keeping these pathways and drains clear will help minimize the risk of water accumulation.
Close or take down Outdoor Umbrellas: If you have outdoor patio umbrellas or other mobile shade structures, make sure to close and secure them. Strong winds can easily damage or carry away these items, posing a danger to your property and those around you.
It is better to be safe than sorry!
